Vietnam
Eight days from Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, Da Nang, Hoi Ann, Hue, Saigon (HCMC)
The border guards were scrutinizing my American passport for about five minutes. Driving is organized chaos, countless mopeds and cars buzz around like bees in a hive. The taxi driver always had one finger on the horn. Countless full size mopeds, with up to four people on them. Water buffalo in the backyard and thin tall houses. History museum in Hanoi, Revolution museum with socialist industrial achievements, first plastic fan plus sewing machine. Thank God, the sellers, especially in the north are not nearly as agressive as in better developed tourist areas like Thailand or Mexico. Cool water puppet theatre in Hanoi. The imperial gardens of Hue are in a state of benign decay. Quite a difference of north and south and we actually liked the north more, it's just more peaceful. Vietnamese girls are in very good shape! It must be the local diet...
