Hebron    Some of the comic episodes included visiting Hebron on a Saturday, where an overzelaous jewish kid tried to knock the camera out of my mom's hand while yelling "Shabbat, Shabbat", as the jews are not supposed to use any kind of power equipment on the holy day. It was not at all funny when a few months later our visit a jewish settler went into a local mosque and started firing an automatic weapon at the muslim worshippers.

The Dead Sea is actually hard to swim in, because the super saturated salt water floats the body too far above the water.

Ceasare    Galilee

Jericho is one of the oldest cities known, about 5000 years old. There wasn't much left from its ancient glory, except this extensive hole in the ground.  However, I had a pretty good falafel in town.

"Would you like some turkish delight?

Not particularly. Do you have any kebabs?"  Vyv

NeoLog  Homepage

Coincidentally the word neolog also describes some jewish communities that are not orthodox.  This goes along with the spirit of this site, as there is nothing really conservative about it.
