Iceland Air has convenient packages on your way between the US and Europe.

On the way back from London, British Airways made an emergency landing in Iceland to drop off a passenger with stomach pains. Before landing though, the plane had to dump most of its jet fuel to make a safe landing. I wish we had the time to look around and have some aquavit and caviar. Instead we've spent two hours on the runway as they refueled the 747 with trucks. Maybe some day...
