A list of some horrible films, or studies in suckiness.
All of these films (except for the last one) are overblown, mindless Hollywood productions. It's not that there aren't any worse films, because there are plenty. These just have particularly big budgets and aren't any good. It is sometimes amazing how money and talent can be wasted in such proportions. Ample proof that spending and raking in money sometimes happens without any value produced. In some cases the higher the expectations are, the more shocking the failure will be. Even though the sci-fi genre is capable of great achievements it also produces the biggest disappointments.
Pink Flamingos on the other hand is made to be bad by design and this aim is more than achieved. If you decide to see that one, prepared to be shocked, bored and repulsed at the same time. You can even see the 30 year anniversary edition.
| Godzilla - It was expected to flop, and it did.
Lost in Space - The preview had all the good parts. (In two minutes.) Independence day - The feelgood crap for the folks. (Good special effects though...) Armageddon - One horrific big budget job. (Aerosmith just wouldn't stop.) Batman and Robin - I fell asleep halfway and did not miss a thing. The Avengers - So many good actors, so much nonsense. Wild Wild West - Rap music and the old west with giant mechanical spiders. What a combo. Ishtar - Just simply not very good. Pink Flamingos - This was so bad that I had to see it twice. You won't believe your eyes. No film is more repulsive and stupid on purpose. |
